We hate to say it, but our 2010 show is canceled. In part, because we did not manage to get anything done on the house while setting up the city show. But more importantly, someone in our neighborhood is acting childishly. The car I have been driving to work the last few months has sat unused in the driveway for the two weeks I was on vacation working on the city show, and then in part because of the cold weather, I drove the truck to work the last week. Just today, we noticed that someone had painted on the rear window of the car "For Sale - $1400". This is sort of disturbing, in that it is trespassing at minimum, but more importantly, somebody has some sort of issue with us that they won't come out and discuss with us. In fact, this goes back further. The car had sat unused in the driveway for a few years while we were trying to get the title cleared up out of an estate in Florida. This summer, somebody complained about it to the HOA. In addition to several hundred dollars in parts that we wound up buying all at once, instead of spreading out like we otherwise would have, and several hundred dollars in HOA fines, it was a royal pain in our sides, taking away from other things we could have been doing for show prep. Personally, I think the HOA complaint, and writing "For Sale" on the car are nearly certainly related.
I think I'll call the HOA, and let them know that whoever used them to complain about the car has taken it to a different level. We already notified the police department, so there at least exists a service number, and a description of the incident. |

Finally, we have at least 95% of our display set up. There are some fence elements that have not been built, and will probably not get lights installed, even if they get built. The wreath has not been hung on the front door yet, but it will, and those snowflakes that were supposed to be part of the 2007 show? 4 of them are up and running. 1 is waiting for a new power cord. 1 is ready to have lights installed, 2 need some flaws sanded off, and two coats of paint. Power cords need to be installed on the lights for those last three. We will see how much (if any) of that gets taken care of before lights come down. If I get them done, what will I talk about next year as something left over from the first year?
As for the sequences, so far, only one of them is well arranged for the current layout, and while it is not quite complete yet, TSO Christmas Eve Sarajevo is the sequence you need to see. The rest will get a fast update, then some more rework as the days go by. |

This year, we have decided that our personal show will accept donations for The American Fallen Soldiers Project. We encourage you to visit their web site, or arrange to visit their gallery. We really appreciate that someone is making this effort for the families of soldiers who have paid the ultimate price in service of our country. |

Lights on Harbor is where we document our obsession with Holiday Lighting! We have done some level of holiday decorating virtually every year, but we took it to the next level in 2007. We had both animated Halloween and animated Christmas light shows set to music. Our Christmas light display was 20,500 lights. This year should be even better!
